Billion Dollar Gram (Information is Beautiful)

Check out informationisbeautiful.net when you have a chance - very cool site with graphical art to illustrate interesting stastics, factoids, things.

This particular piece was the artist's attempt to try and give greater meaning to the "billion" unit, as the artist observed, and rightfully so, that this a phenomenally common number in our daily discourse for how large a number it actually is.

Going to see this guy in Guy Kawasaki tonight at Volar and am very excited as I've heard a lot of good things. I found this video and thought it made a lot of sense.

Dynamite Hack Boyz In The Hood

This song reminds me of Summer of '99 and selling books door to door in Northern California. Crazy that that was 10 years ago - a friggin decade!

Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney on HBO's JOHN ADAMS

I was really looking forward to seeing this and I finally saw the first part of the HBO miniseries JOHN ADAMS yesterday. I was not disappointed; phenomenal actors portraying an incredible time in American and human history. Who could've predicted that the efforts, debates, squabbles and ultimately agreements could've had such a long-lasting impact on governance the world over?

Here's another clip of produce Tom Hanks discussing the project.

Nokia CEO Says iPhone A "Wakeup Call"

Interesting interview with Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo discussing how the iPhone changed the mobile marketplace, as well as the transition from being a company focused only on hardware manufacturing to one that also provides services. He observes that Apple has done the mobile industry a great service by illuminating the possibilities of communication and information retrieval via mobile device, thereby dramatically increasing users' proclivity to engage in the mobile experience and super-charging adoption.

For Q4, Nokia grabbed approximately 41% of the worldwide market, compared to RIM at 19.5, followed by Apple at 10.7 (source).

TRAILER: Zombieland (Oct 2009)

Starring Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson.

On the topic of zombies, one of the most entertaining works I've read in past few years is World War Z by Max Brooks. Great read that is more a statement/expose on the nature of man than the walking dead.

This Kid has Skills.

This kid has some moves - I really credit the cameraman (or woman) with not laughing while holding the camera. I would be convulsing I'm pretty sure, rendering the act unfilmable.
